Apple iPhone OS represents 15% of mobile ad impressions in Europe

Android is the leading mobile OS in Europe in ad impressions. In the third quarter of 2011, 33% of mobile ads were displayed on smartphones running Android. Android continues to grow. Google’s mobile OS gained 7.8 share point since the second quarter of 2011, while iPhone OS and Symbian lost market share. Apple’s mobile OS comes after Android with a 15% market share, followed by Symbian (10%) and Nokia OS (6%).

Symbian represents 10% of mobile ad impressions in Europe

Android and iPhone OS combined represent half of mobile ad impressions in Europe. RIM does well in France. Android represents 41% of mobile ads impressions in France in the third quarter of 2011, while iPhone OS comes second with a 26% share and RIM OS comes third with a 21% share. Android is strong in Germany. 49% of mobile ads were displayed on Android devices. Iphone OS comes second with a 31% share and RIM OS comes third with a 5% share.
